artist: joan chan of just comics

Joan Chan, the creator of Just Comics, is a Hong Kong-based illustrator that uses comics to raise awareness and educate about veganism. Her work, unsurprisingly, also addresses how our action (and inaction) are impacting our planet. In a simple four panel comic strip, Earth is anthropomorphized as a childlike creature being disappointed by an older and presumingly more responsible character. Though a shimmer of optimism remains, like the comic strip above featuring 16 year old climate activist Greta Thunberg, who is now globally recognized for her leadership in youth climate strikes.
